Mu Alpha Theta sponsors a reef
Stephen Decatur High School Mu Alpha Theta members, the math honor society chapter at the school, calculated the risks of ocean pollution and decided to take action. After conducting a gift card raffle fundraiser, the group donated $1100 to the Ocean City Reef Foundation. In the process, members even got the opportunity to name a reef using a witty math pun, The Great De-reef-ative." The Ocean City Reef Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing marine life by creating and maintaining artificial reef systems.

School clubs unite in "Donations for the Troops"
In honor of Veterans Day, four flatbeds of toiletries and other awesome donations were collected for the troops courtesy of Connections, students and staff.
Food for thought
During the time of giving, students and staff definitely caught the spirit, collecting over 1300 pounds of canned goods during the annual food drive, November 18 - 22. The school donated the goods to Diakonia, a local shelter in West Ocean City. Student Government Association members sponsored the drive.
National Honor Society donates to local charities
In the spirit of giving, National Honor Society fundraised throughout December so that the group could adopt needy families through Worcester G.O.L.D. (Giving Other Lives Dignity) and make an annual donation of $3000 to Believe in Tomorrow. Since 2005, the organization has donated over $30,000 to Believe in Tomorrow. The organization also collected canned goods for Diakonia.
NJROTC Annual Inspection
The NJROTC program welcomed United States Navy Captain Donald J. Sheehan, Jr. during its annual inspection in February. The event, which combines a formal personnel inspection of uniforms and grooming with an evaluation of the understanding of Navy values, is designed to allow cadets to demonstrate what they have learned as a participant with the program.
Athletes bring game to next level
Twenty-four Stephen Decatur High School student athletes will be taking their games to the next level in a variety of sports. The student athletes were recognized in a signing ceremony in the school gymnasium on May 4 along with family members and coaches.

Key Club hosts blood drives
Stephen Decatur High School students and staff potentially saved over 200 lives after participating in two yearly Key Club Blood Drives during American Education Week and early March. With over 150 pints collected each year, Stephen Decatur High School is typically one of the largest high school blood donation sites on the Eastern Shore.

Investment Club dominates market
Stephen Decatur High School controlled the market again as three Seahawks took first and third place in the state in the winter 20 - 21 Stock Market Game. The team of Houston Phillips (second from right) and Evan Kinsey (far right) earned a whopping 181% on a virtual $100,000 investment, placing their names in the state record books for total earnings and securing the number one spot in Maryland. With three state titles to his name along with other regional wins, Phillips also became the most decorated Stock Market Game participant in school history. Zachary Powers took third in the state, marking his prowess in the game as well.
Not just diamonds on the field
Hitting baseballs, then hitting the books. That's what the varsity baseball program is all about, putting academics and service as priorities along with sports training. Spreading love for our furry friends
Thanks to the generous contributions from students and faculty, the Kids Against Animal Abuse and Testing (KAAAT) group was able to make generous donations of pet food to both the Worcester County Humane Society and Kenille's Kupboard.
