Stephen Decatur High School is happy to announce that senior Grayson Wolf has been named a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program, scoring in the nation's top 1% on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Over 1.6 million students enter the program each year and, as a finalist, he is now in elite company among 15,000 top students in the nation.

Wolf will continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered this spring. National Merit Scholarship winners of 2020 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July.

Wolf is one of three National Merit Scholarship Finalists in a decade from Stephen Decatur High School. In school, Grayson is a member of the National Honor Society, the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, the Academic Team, and the Science Olympiad Team. He is also a College Board Advanced Placement Scholar.

Mu Alpha Theta sponsors a reef
Picture
Stephen Decatur High School Mu Alpha Theta members, the math honor society chapter at the school, calculated the risks of ocean pollution and decided to take action. After conducting a gift card raffle fundraiser, the group donated $1100 to the Ocean City Reef Foundation. In the process, members even got the opportunity to name a reef using a witty math pun, The Great De-reef-ative." The Ocean City Reef Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing marine life by creating and maintaining artificial reef systems.
